Founded in 1978 the French Independent Winemakers' movement, a union, aims at the protection and the specificity of winemaking mainly.

The French Independent Winemakers' movement includes 32 French "départments" federations, 11 regional federations and nearly 7000 members who are all volunteer contributors.
